Terms of Service

Launch draft: have Nigerian counsel review these terms, the cancellation rules and the final payment-provider agreement before accepting real payments.

These terms govern access to Stay Lagos, including the guest app, Host Mode and administrator-supported booking services. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms and applicable law.

Accounts

You must provide accurate information, keep your sign-in details secure and promptly report suspected misuse. Stay Lagos may restrict or suspend an account to protect users, investigate fraud, comply with law or enforce these terms.

Listings and Hosts

Hosts must be authorised to manage every property they submit and must keep descriptions, availability, fees, rules and photographs accurate. Verification reduces risk but is not a guarantee that every future condition at a property will remain unchanged.

Booking requests

Submitting a request does not confirm a stay. A booking becomes confirmed only after the Host or Stay Lagos approves it and any payment required by the displayed flow is successfully verified. Prices, service fees, cleaning fees and refundable security deposits are shown before a guest pays.

Payment protection

Online payments remain disabled until Stay Lagos connects an approved payment provider. When enabled, the provider—not the browser app—will process payment details. The platform may record a protected-funds ledger and delay Host payout until the stated release condition. The exact provider terms, payout timing and any regulated safeguarding or escrow arrangement will be disclosed before payment. Stay Lagos does not claim that its internal database ledger is a bank account or licensed escrow service.

Security deposits, cancellations and refunds

A security deposit, where shown, may be held separately and may be used only for documented claims permitted by the booking rules. Cancellation eligibility and refund amounts depend on the listing policy, timing, provider settlement status and applicable law. A guest or Host may open a payment dispute while eligible protected funds remain held; Stay Lagos may freeze release while reviewing evidence.

Prohibited conduct

You must not submit false documents, create fraudulent bookings, misuse another person’s payment method, evade fees, scrape private data, interfere with security controls or attempt unauthorised access.

Account deletion

You may request deletion from Profile and cancel the request before secure processing begins. Your account remains available during review so you can manage an active stay. Once approved, login credentials are disabled and eligible personal information and uploaded verification files are deleted or anonymised. Records that must be retained for fraud prevention, accounting, dispute handling or law may be restricted and retained for the required period.

Service availability and liability

The service may be changed, paused or updated for safety, maintenance or legal reasons. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Final liability language must be approved by counsel before commercial launch.
